CLIFTON WINS FIRST PLACE AT HOGG MS UIL COMPETITION SATURDAY 2/13/10

Clifton’s Speech Team took first place by over 400 points ahead of the competition at Saturday’s Hogg Middle School UIL Competition.  Clifton dominated in all areas of competition.  Speech  Winners  include:

Oral Reading both divisions-Francisco Castro 1^st, Heena Bhakta, 3^rd Whitney Workman, Elvis Martinez , Azeneth Quiroz & Gladys Lara, finalists

Impromptu Speaking English-A Clifton Sweep!! Norman Ramirez 1^st , Chace Daniel/ Amber Pollard tied for 2^nd and Amy Vina 3^rd

Impromptu Speaking Spanish-Norman again in 1^st, Francisco Castro 2^nd & Victor Cerda, finalist

TV Commercial-Mikah Daniel 2^nd, Zachery King 3^rd and Taylor Hernandez finalist

Modern Oratory- Shubhang Bhalla 1^st, Francisco Castro 1^st in Spanish, Victor Cerda 2^nd, Amy Vina 3^rd, & Diego Medrano finalist

Duet Improv  Acting-Camden Thornton/Joey Horne 1^st, Richard Moreno/Norman Ramirez 3^rd.

Social Studies: Micehlle Moore 2nd, Monica Mendoza 3rd, Jeremy Johnson finalist 6th grade division, plus Whitney Workman 2nd place and Maxwell Hopkins & Heena Bhakta finalists in 8th grade. We also took Social Studies Team Award.

Science  I-Michelle Moore 1st, Zach Dunn 3rd Clifton also took the Team Science Trophy

Science II-Amy Vina 1st, Joey Horne 2nd, Marco Ulloa & Shubhang Bhalla finalists.
