DEAR CLIFTON
FAMILIES:
The Clifton
Middle School PTA has many exciting things planned for the upcoming school
year. We encourage you to join the PTA and become an active vital part of our
organization and school. You received an envelope this week to send in your
dues and join the PTA.
It is the goal
of the PTA to promote student achievement and to support the faculty and staff
in the process of educating our children. The PTA sponsors the annual
Cougarfest (the PTA fall festival), the Scholars’ Banquet, Report Card
Incentives, Teacher Appreciation Week, Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon,
and the 8th Grade Dance. The PTA also provides various student awards for the
promotion of academic and community service achievement.
The Cougarfest
held in the fall is the major fundraiser for the PTA. It is lots of fun with
opportunities for the adult family members and faculty of the school to join
together and raise the much-needed funds to support PTA projects. Whether you
can help out at school or behind the scenes from home, we need and want you in
the Clifton PTA.
Prior projects
funded by the Clifton PTA included: (1) the purchase of the student badge
equipment, (2) updating the Parent Information Phone System, (3) the purchase of
new VCR’s for classroom use, (4) the purchase of books for the Accelerated
Reader Program, (5) enhancement of the computer lab in the library, (6)
development of the outdoor pond and waterfall, and (7) the purchase of video
cameras for the English department. Every year new items make the Clifton wish
list and the PTA steps up to make those wishes come true. The involvement of
Clifton families is vital to student achievement. Please consider becoming a
part of the PTA and help the Clifton dreams come true.
You should
have received your membership envelope for PTA registration in the materials
sent home with your student. PTA dues are only $5.00 per member for the school
